Connecting with our school

It is important to us that we work in partnership with parents and carers. Communication between home and school is key to this.

We recognise however that it can often be difficult communicating with teachers because they have a very full timetable; and that parents and carers also have very busy lives.

We will always work to get back to your enquiries within a reasonable timeframe. We aim to do this within 3 workings days. If your matter is urgent we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

MyParentPortal app pilot

Strathnairn School is piloting the new MyParentPortal app during term 4, 2026.

Our school has been using Parent Portal, a secure online platform used to share student information between you and your child’s teachers.

This new phone app will allow the Education Directorate to enhance functionality including digital consent for excursions and activities and medical form updates later in 2027.

You will have received communication about the new app. Please reach out to our front office if you have any questions.

Use MyParentPortal to:

The Parent Portal platform – from which the MyParentPortal app draws information – is used by all ACT public schools from preschool through to year 12. During the term 4 pilot of MyParentPortal, if you have children at other ACT public schools, you can access their information from the current Parent Portal app.

You can access the new MyParentPortal app by downloading it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
