Principal’s message

It is with immense pride and a deep sense of privilege that I welcome you to Strathnairn School, a vibrant new learning hub in the heart of Ginninderry. This year we welcomed our inaugural cohort of preschool to year 2 students and their families. We are opening enrolments for the 2027 school year for all grade levels to year 6, subject to there being viable enrolment numbers – something we will be able to share with you later this year.
Our school is guided by the core belief that every child deserves to be seen, supported, and successful. These pillars form the foundation of our educational approach. We believe that a culture of safety and wellbeing is the essential starting point for all learning. At Strathnairn School, providing an inclusive environment is our highest priority. When children feel truly safe and supported, they have the confidence to achieve their own unique version of success.
Strathnairn School is more than just a primary school; it is a community hub with deep roots in our local area. We value our close ties with The Link Ginninderry and are proud of our exciting partnership with The Y, who provide high-quality Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services onsite. These connections allow us to celebrate diverse perspectives and support a culture of collaboration. We are a place of learning that encourages curiosity and lifelong growth, not just for our students, but for our staff, families, and the broader community as well.
Being a new school provides us with the unique opportunity to build our culture from the ground up. We want every family and student to feel they belong and have a strong sense of connection. We want to build connection, not only to each other, but also to Ngunnawal land and the community where our school has been built. This will help students feel proud of and responsible for caring for their local environment. We believe that education is a collaborative partnership and want to work with students and families to shape the values, philosophy, and educational practices of our school for years to come. Whether you are part of our founding families or are considering joining us in 2027, we look forward to working together to create a school where every member is truly seen, supported, and successful.
If you are new to the area, I warmly invite you to visit our school. Please contact us to arrange a tour, we’d love to welcome you.
